Dual AK4492ECB DACs
The SA700 is the first digital audio player to feature AKM’s new AK4429ECD digital-to-analogue convertor - and we’ve used it in a dual-DAC arrangement. It has the same exquisite sonic characteristics as AKM’s uber-high end AK4497EQ DAC, but with lower power consumption - which makes it perfect for the SA700.

Knowledge is power
The SA700 is equipped with a big, bright touchscreen. It’s 4.1in across and has a 720 x 1280 resolution - so it’s ideal for navigating between streaming services, browsing your library of songs stored on the SA700’s internal memory, or simply enjoying some crisp, detailed and pin-sharp album artwork.
Stainless steel construction
It’s durable, strong and corrosion-resistant, of course - but stainless steel also looks good, feels great in the hand and contributes no end to the SA700’s sonic performance. Tacility, longevity and untouchable sound quality - and that stainless steel volume control protector is a genuine design feature too.
The colour of volume
The LEDs around the volume wheel look good, yes - but they also provided information about the bit-depth of the music that’s playing. Not only that, but there are 150 degrees of red saturation to indicate which of the 150 volume increments is currently selected.
